VisitEngland's multi-channel marketing campaign covers the four themes of countryside, coast, heritage and culture
National tourist board VisitEngland has this week launched the fifth of six marketing campaigns designed to boost domestic tourism, this time promoting short breaks in some of the country’s iconic seaside destinations.

The campaign aims to drive more tourists to England’s seaside, with restaurants, hotels and pubs in locations such as Bournmouth, Blackpool and Dorset set to benefit.

“This campaign aims to inspire UK residents to explore our iconic seaside resorts by tapping into the nostalgia of a holiday by the sea - whether it’s a revisiting a favourite walk on the pier, or trying something new like a surfing lesson,” said VisitEngland’s chief executive James Berresford.

“This is a great example of the industry working in partnership to stimulate tourism and grow jobs throughout the country.”

The destination organisations participating in the English Seaside campaign are:

  • Marketing Blackpool
  • Bournemouth Tourism
  • Visit Dorset
  • East Lindsey District Council
  • The English Riviera Tourism Company
  • Visit Hull and East Yorkshire (VHEY)
  • West Norfolk District Council
  • Portsmouth City Council
  • South Tyneside Council

The multi-channel marketing campaign covers the four themes of countryside, coast, heritage and culture – all are funded, in part, by the Government’s Regional Growth Fund (RGF).
