Luxury handmade cordial producer Norfolk Cordial has added a new flavour to its range - Redcurrant & Grapefruit.

Product details:

Norfolk Cordial, producer of cordials made from fresh produce from farms in Norfolk, has extended its range with the introduction of new flavour Redcurrant & Grapefruit. The cordial, made from only natural ingredients, is a bright maroon colour and has a 'dense and ripe redcurrant nose'. Producers say it has 'a smooth palate' with 'the richness of red berries with grapefruit on the finish'. It can be served diluted with water or added into alcoholic or non-alcoholic cocktails and is available in 250ml or 750ml glass bottles.

USP:
Cordials are generally reserved for the younger customer, but with the type of fruit used in this version, it could have a wider appeal to the adult drinker who wants an interesting soft drink. "It's a very dry, adult drink," said a spokesperson for the brand "with juniper notes that are not dissimilar to those found in a gin and tonic."

Price:

£2.50 for the 250ml bottle or £7 for the 750ml bottle.

Availability:

From Woods Foodservice at www.woodsfoodservice.co.uk and Bablake Wines at www.bablakewines.co.uk

Why you should buy it:

As this video interview with mixologist Tony Conigliaro shows, there are more and more occasions when customers can't or don't want to drink alcohol, so operators are starting to look for more interesting alternatives to the usual sodas and fruit juices to add to menus. Norfolk Cordial also has approved supplier status with the Sustainable Restaurant Association and its existing cordials, which come in Raspberry, Strawberry & Lime, Wild Elderflower and Rhubarb, Orange & Ginger flavours, already have the seal of approval of a number of bars, restaurants and hotels, including Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons, the Milsoms Boutique Hotel Collection and Ragdale Hall.
