Great Northern Hotel
It was a hotel for 137 years until it closed in 1991. Now, following £40m of investment and three years of tireless work to restore it to its former glory, railway hotel the Great Northern Hotel at London's King's Cross is set to re-open.
March's announcement came with details of the new-look property which will include this elegant-looking Great Northern Bar, a 100-cover bar which will open from 7am until late in the evening to serve guests and passing travellers and which has ambitions of being 'the most glamorous bars in a major railway station in Europe. Certainly somewhere to see and be seen.
