Bunzl Catering Supplies has created a new style of lid for disposable coffee cups that aims to mimic the feel of sipping from a real cup.

Bunzl Catering Supplies has created a new curved plastic lid for disposable cups which it says mimics the feel of sipping from a china tea or coffee cup. The patented 'Sipsational' lid fits with the Metro Cup range of disposable white and brown rippled hot cups which come in 12oz and 16oz sizes in cases of 1,000.

Coffee drinkers like the convenience of disposable cups, but according to coffee shop owners they are not so keen on the squareness of the rim on typical lids, so Bunzl set about creating a lid that can give customers a better drinking experience.
