The owner of Tempo Restaurant & Bar in Mayfair is to close the business at the end of this week after selling the site on to another operator.

Henry Togna, who bought the 60-cover Curzon Street restaurant and 25-cover bar in 2010, said he was given an offer he couldn't refuse from the new owners.

"It was not an easy decision, having spent three years working hard to develop the business, but the new owners had been in touch with me for over a year and their last offer was the right one, so I accepted,” he said.

Entrepreneur and 'avid restaurant-goer' Togna first entered the hospitality industry in 1990 when he transformed 22 Jermyn Street into a luxury townhouse hotel. His Italian restaurant Tempo developed a loyal following within the Mayfair area, but he said he had no immediate plans to move the business elsewhere.
