Biochemistry firm Omega Ingredients has announced a new partnership to distribute a range of Italian citrus essential oils in the UK - some of which can be used by chefs as ingredients in innovative meals.

Product details:

Omega Ingredients, which uses biochemistry to create a range of natural flavourings, ingredients and aromas, has signed a partnership with Sicilian firm Misitano & Stracuzzi to distribute their essential oils in the UK.

The range includes oils containing lemon, orange, mandarin, bergamot, grapefruit and clementine.

Founded in 2001, Omega Ingredients already manufactures a range of products for chefs - including real wasabi powder, oyster extract and horseradish snow - and has said innovative restaurants will be able to create new dishes using this range of oils which are available in the UK for the first time.

The range, which is Kosher and Halal certified, is a mixture of pressed, distilled, decolourised and essence oils, plus both terpenes and terpeneless fractions.

Family firm Misitano & Stracuzzi has been processing and producing oils for four generations making it one of the oldest producers of its type in Sicily. Sicily is thought to be one of the best places in the world for producing citrus oils due to its fertile soils and pleasant climate which help citrus fruits flourish there.

USP:

True Sicilian citrus essential oils are considered to offer the best quality in the world. These essential oils are now available in the UK for the first time.
