Anne Pierce, chief executive of The Springboard Charity, has won the Special Achievement award at this year's Footprint Awards in recognition of her contribution to the social sustainability of the industry.

Pierce collected her prize at the Footprint Awards 2013 which were held last week at RIBA in London. Other winners on the night included 3663, Nestle Professional, Compass Group and Pret a Manger.

Nick Fenwicke-Clennell, chief executive of Footprint Media Group, said: “This year’s award winners demonstrate just how far the agenda has moved on since the inaugural Footprint Awards in 2011."

The annual awards are designed to recognise success in sustainability throughout the foodservice supply chain.

"Whether it’s in the area of natural resource, energy or waste, the campaigns and initiatives being pioneered by companies large and small are on the one hand increasingly sophisticated while on the other hand, seemingly becoming ‘second nature’ for companies," Fenwicke-Clennell added.
