Tom Kerridge, owner and head chef of The Hand & Flowers, is to present a new BBC Two TV programme celebrating the best in pub food.

Tom Kerridge's Proper Pub Food will air this summer and is the latest in a number of recent commissions which have given chefs and restaurateurs their own platform as the TV industry's interest in the hospitality industry shows no sign of abating.

The head chef's show, which will show viewers how to create the best fub food dishes, will be joined later this year The Incredible Spice Men: Todiwala And Singh in which restaurateurs Cyrus Todiwala and Tony Singh extol the virtues of cooking with spices.

Alison Kirkham, commissioning editor, factual features & formats said: “Both these programmes will offer fresh ideas and inspire people across Britain to get busy in the kitchen this Summer. I am delighted to welcome Tom, Cyrus and Tony to BBC Two, and am sure their passion and infectious characters will delight viewers.”

Tom Kerridge's two Michelin-starred Marlow pub came third in last year's National Restaurant Awards and was also named Gastropub of the Year.
