South Manchester-based restaurant The Beagle has announced it is rethinking its food offer and has teamed up with local street food collective Guerilla Eats whose traders will take turns to supply the venue's menus and food.

A statement from The Beagle in Chorlton confirmed the team had decided to step away from the day-to-day running of the property's food offer: "We're having a bit of rethink about what we're doing at The Beagle, after opening with a big emphasis on the restaurant, we’ve decided we're going to stick to what we’re really good at; great beer, great wine, great cocktails and great atmosphere.

"We want to be a craft beer house with food, not a restaurant with a bar attached."

From Thursday 6 June Guerilla Eats will control the Chorlton kitchen. On an alternating basis a different trader will offer a selection of two to three street food-inspired dishes from Tuesday to Sunday each week - each trader has promised to serve something diners won't be able to eat elsewhere.

Jonathan Heyes, from The Beagle, said: “We’re really excited to join forces with Guerrilla Eats. A weekly change of traders will create an exciting and ever changing menu. Guerrilla Eats will be bringing the great food and we’ll be supplying the great drinks – it’s a match made in heaven.”

Sarah Tarmaster of Guerrilla Eats added: "The partnership with The Beagle is an amazing opportunity for Guerrilla Eats and for our traders. Coming into the kitchen allows our traders to up their skills, try out different styles of cooking and lets us incubate the phenomenal cooking talent that we have here in the north west. Guerrilla Eats is about changing the way we eat."
