Mike Reid, head chef, Merchants Bar & Restaurant
Merchants Bar & Restaurant in Liverpool city centre has appointed Mike Reid as its new head chef.
Reid, 28, joins the team with more than 13 years’ experience having worked at an array of well-known brands in and around the city including Jury’s Inn at the Albert Dock and Jamie’s Italian in Liverpool ONE.
Speaking from his new kitchen, he said: “In the short space of time that I have been here, I have changed all of the menus, included more local produce into our dishes and enhanced the restaurant’s overall offering. We really have raised our game and I am excited to see what our existing and new customers think."
