Holiday Inn Express Birmingham Snow Hill, Snow Hill, Birmingham - 17 June
InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) continued the expansion of its Holiday Inn Express brand with the opening of a new hotel in Birmingham this month.
Operated by Interstate Hotels & Resorts UK, the 224-bedroom property in the Snow Hill district of the city centre features a selection of king, family and twin bedrooms and a state-of-the-art meetings space.
The opening follows the £23m transformation of Kennedy Tower following a Government-backed Business Premises Renovation Allowance (BPRA) scheme funded by Downing Corporate Finance.
Nick Taplin, senior vice president of Interstate Hotels & Resorts UK, said: “There has been major investment to transform the 19-storey building, formerly Kennedy Tower, into a hotel. We are delighted with the result and believe the business will thrive in Birmingham’s strong hotel market.”
