Hotel management company Redefine BDL has re-opened the Landmark Hotel in Dundee as a Doubletree by Hilton following a £1m refurbishment of the property.

The 92-bedroom hotel set within a Victorian listed building, becomes the 21st hotel to open under Hilton's Doubletree by Hilton brand in the UK and the third in Scotland.

Simon Vincent, president, EMEA, Hilton Worldwide, said, “Scotland remains one of the most popular destinations for our guests and DoubleTree by Hilton Dundee is a great addition to our 14 strong Scottish portfolio.

"The hotel was recently named Dundee Hotel of the Year at the 2013 Scottish Hotel Awards and we are delighted to be bringing it under the DoubleTree by Hilton brand at a time when Scotland is gearing up for a huge year of tourism with its hosting of the 2014 Commonwealth Games and Ryder Cup.”

The hotel includes a new health club and fine-dining restaurant Maze Restaurant. Its opening precedes that of a Doubletree by Hilton in Edinburgh, which will open also in partnership with Redefine BDL at the end of the year.
