Nico Tortorelli, executive chef, Strada
Strada, the collection of Italian restaurants, has appointed Nico Tortorelli as its new executive chef.
Based at Strada’s development kitchen in Finchley, Tortorelli will further develop the company’s menus across its 69 UK restaurants. Born in Taranto in southern Italy, the chef will devise new menu items to underline the restaurants’ strong heritage in local dishes that use market-fresh produce.
Under Tortorelli's guidance, Strada is currently rolling out new menus that reflect the summer’s harvest with regional dishes. He said: “I am delighted to be leading the development of our menus and to differentiating our product as the freshest and most authentic.
"We are passionate about Italian food, and I am looking forward to asserting Strada’s presence as the home of traditionally cooked Italian food in the UK.”
