Newly-opened Italian restaurant Love’s Fresh Pasta, in London’s Mayfair, could become a national chain within the next few years.

Owned by multi-millionaire David Gold, the man behind global hair extensions business Great Lengths, Love’s aims to serve fresh pasta or pizza in less than nine minutes, aided by the use of touch screen technology.

Customers design their own pizza and pasta dishes on iPads at the table or wall-mounted touch screens, before paying at the till and scanning their order themselves. They can then track their order on large screens with the restaurant guaranteeing to deliver the dish within its promised time frame or it will be free to loyalty card holders.

If successful, Gold plans to roll out Love’s as a national chain with more than a dozen sites.
