Food and drink packaging and disposables firm Tri-Star Packaging has become the exclusive UK distributor of PacknWood's eco-friendly packaging and disposable tableware.

Product details:

PacknWood, the UK subsidiary of a French company, specialises in products made using biodegradable and compostable materials.

The new deal means Tri-Star will distribute four PacknWood ranges:

  • The Buckaty Collection – a line of round food-to-go containers made from greaseproof recyclable board from natural sources.
  • The Kray Collection – a range of food-to-go boxes with a natural brown look, made from recycled and recyclable greaseproof board, suitable for both hot and cold food.
  • The Eco-Design Collection – a selection of white disposable tableware made from Bagasse, or sugar cane pulp, a material that is natural, renewable, 100 per cent biodegradable and compostable.
  • The Bio & Chic Collection – also made from Bagasse, the collection boasts a white, flat, sleek design for a modern look.

USP:

As well as eco-friendly cardboard and bagasse, Tri-Star also sells products made from other ‘green’, sustainable materials, including bamboo, corn starch, responsibly-sourced wood, palm and recycled & recyclable plastic.

Availability:

All the products in all four ranges are available exclusively from Tri-Star Packaging - enquiries and orders can be made via the company's website.

Price:

There are a number of products in all four ranges and the cost will depend on the product ordered and the size and type of the order. Contact Tri-Star directly for more information.

Why should you buy it?

Kevin Curran, managing director of Tri-Star, said: "It’s a natural partnership, because both companies are forward-thinking pioneers who push the boundaries in the quest to bring better and smarter packaging to customers.

"Just as it is for PacknWood, sustainability is a high priority at Tri-Star. However, just like PacknWood, we don’t sacrifice performance for the sake of scoring ‘green’ brownie points.  For both companies, using eco-friendly materials to create packaging and tableware that perform at the highest level is the real deal – a passion even – and we’re delighted to have formalised this shared vision in our new partnership."
