Pinchard, who joined the company in 2012 as area director of sales UK & Ireland, has launched the Park Inn Price Promise which agrees to beat like-for-like competitor meeting quotes by 10 per cent across its portfolio of 23 hotels in the UK and Ireland.
From 1 September, customers presenting a quote from a comparable local hotel or venue for meetings taking place before 31 March 2014 will be offered an identical package for 10 per cent less in a bid to boost its meetings trade and show off facilities.
Recent reports have shown that there has been an upturn in the number of meetings being booked across the nation's hotels as confidence returns, albeit slowly, to the corporate market. Both Jurys Inn and De Vere have recently invested heavily in their meetings and conferencing facilities and Pinchard said this promotion was a way of the company grabbing a bigger slice of the market by enticing conference bookers to try Park Inn.
“This is a very strong offer - a simple deal that promises genuine savings for our meetings bookers, whilst delivering a consistent, reliable and great value for money meetings experience and we hope it serves as a platform to entice those not familiar with our brand and hotels to come and try them," said Pinchard.
Pinchard's new role will see him combine responsibility for the UK & Ireland’s hotel and national sales team and strategy, with the additional direct management of the global sales operation for the area, to help create 'a fully integrated approach' across Carlson Rezidor’s multiple hotel brands.
During his time with the group, Pinchard, has revised the strategy of national and global sales and re-structured the sales team to deal with all areas of the business.
Richard Moore, Carlson Rezidor area vice president UK & Ireland, said as the company sought to de-centralise its operations, now was the right time to give Pinchard additional responsibility for the region's global sales.
"We’ve taken enormous steps forward over the past 12 months to optimise and augment our sales operation, which combined with our ongoing investment and development in product and service; should stand us in great stead going forward," he said.
Prior to joining Rezidor, Pinchard worked in sales for a number of hotel brands, including Barcelo, Hilton, IHG and Thistle.
