Family-owned pastry manufacturer Pidy has launched a range of flavoursome ‘Spicy Cups’ which can be used as canapés and filled with a variety of fillings.

Product details:

The Spicy Cups come in four flavours - African falafel; Asian curry; Mexican chilli and Southern pepper. They include various fragrant ingredients from chillies, aromatics and a mixture of ground spices.

They come in four colours that correlate to the spice from a red canapé cup for the Southern Pepper flavour to a green canapé cup for the Asian Curry flavour.

Spicy Cups are ideal for creating unusual and flavoursome canapés. They can be filled with a variety of fillings from seafood, vegetables to salsa, mint and sweet chilli sauces.

Robert Whittle, general manager of Pidy UK, said: “Pidy’s range offers a wide array of ready to fill patisserie items which not only taste delicious but look individual and homemade. The Pidy range of flavours, taste, textures and styles ensure that our clients are able to cater from small parties to banquets with the reassurance of consistency in every aspect.”

At the discretion of the wholesaler. For further price details of the range call Pidy on 01604 705666.

Pidy’s Spicy Cups are available to all UK foodservice businesses now, having been launched at the recent Lunch! trade show at the Business Design Centre in Islington.

Why you should buy them:

Whittle added: “Pidy have successfully launched a fruity cup and a veggie cup range and the latest extension to this range is the very exotic Spicy Cups. This is a perfect fit for our UK customers as the British market is so dynamic in its flavour profile, I really believe that these Spicy Cups will appeal to caterers as customers strive for more exciting taste sensations.

“The NPD team have researched a variety of ingredients from around the world that represent different tastes and levels of heat and spice. Pidy always pride themselves on keeping ahead of food trends and the flavours of the Spicy Cups will enable our clients to create futuristic flavour fusions.”

More information:

Pidy are also launching a pre-baked frozen range of pasty suitable for the foodservice and eat out industry. The pre baked frozen Pidy tarts take just eight minutes to bake, resulting in a home-made and ‘oven-fresh’ tart.
