Sustainable Restaurant of the Year Grainstore
Grainstore, the latest restaurant from chef Bruno Loubet and the Zetter Group, was named The Sustainable Restaurant of the Year after receiving the highest score in its rating of its sourcing, water, waste and energy saving initiatives by the Sustainable Restaurant Association (SRA).
The restaurant in King's Cross, which was placed ninth on the National Restaurant Awards list, has a veg-centric menu and uses state-of-the-art technology that monitors and controls the performance and energy consumption of its kitchen equipment while half of the profits from sales of filtered water go to local charities chosen by the staff.
Loubet, whose other restaurant Bistrot Bruno Loubet, was also on the list (56), picked up the award from the SRA's Mark Linehan with Mark Sainsbury of The Zetter Group.
