The Cross in Kenilworth, New Street
Andreas Antona, chef-patron of Simpsons in Edgbaston, purchased The Cross in Kenilworth in July of this year, and the pub-restaurant has just re-opened after an extensive refurbishment.
The pub will be run by Adam Bennett, the UK’s Bocuse d’Or candidate and former head chef at the Michelin-starred Simpsons.
The decor is now dark reds, greens and purple tinted greys with an eclectic mix of re-upholstered reclaimed materials, new furnishings and more subtle lighting. The menu reflects the best local and seasonal ingredients, with prices ranging from £6 for starters to £30 for Hereford Sirloin on the bone.
Antona said: “We reopened at the end of September and the past few weeks have been focussed on training up staff and ensuring the smooth running of the operation. Adam has some great ideas for the menu and with his talent for taste and a great team behind him.
“We should soon be winning over a loyal following of food lovers from the surrounding area.”
