Red Dog American Sandwiches, Hoxton Square, London
Tom Berk, owner of Red Dog Saloon BBQ restaurant on Hoxton Square, opened Red Dog American Sandwiches on the site next door earlier this month.
The 26-cover diner offers 15 hot and cold subs, four hot dogs and a selection of sides, salads and desserts.
Head chef Tim Tolley - formerly of Vong NYC, Vong London and Plateau – has devised the menu, with produce coming from aged, Scottish beef, outdoor-reared pigs and free-range chickens. Subs include Philly cheesesteak (Scottish rib eye, Vidalia onions); The Cuban (roast pork, chorizo, Swiss cheese, mustard and pickles); and the Po’boy (southern fried catfish, remoulade sauce, lettuce, tomato and pickles).
