MeatLiquor, London Road, Brighton
BigHospitality first picked up wind that MeatLiquor was heading to Brighton well over a year ago and, despite the enormous hype ahead of the restaurant's opening, Yianni Papoutsis and Scott Collins didn't disappoint.
'Hip' is perhaps the best word to describe the new venue on London Road; with an abbatoir-esque interior, graffitied walls, loud music and neon lighting. The street food concept famously started life as Meatwagon in 2009 when Papoutsis bought an old van and toured London's car parks to serve burgers to customers who'd heard about his idea on Twitter.
Now, the company, which counts former Clapham House chairman David Page as a backer, is on target to turnover c£12m in its current financial year.
