The London Dry Gin is described by Sipsmith as ‘bold, complex and aromatic’ – smooth enough for a martini but rich and balanced, so ideal for a G&T.
Sipsmith uses ten carefully selected botanicals from around the world to make the gin, including Macedonian juniper berries, Bulgarian coriander seed and Spanish liquorice root.
On the nose, it has floral, ‘summer meadow’ notes; for the palate, dry juniper leads with hints of lemon tart and orange marmalade; and for the finish, dryness leads with spicy juniper and a hint of lemon tart emerging.
Sipsmith’s London Dry Gin is one of the few gins in the world handcrafted in a copper-pot still using the one shot method (it is not made from concentrate). The copper is key to producing the perfect spirit as it draws all the impurities, sulphates and fatty acids out of the Gin (and Vodka) as it makes its way through the still. The result is something smooth and refined.
Sipsmith products are available through most premium wholesalers and direct from Sipsmith Ltd. For sales enquiries, contact James Grundy, sales director, on 020 8741 2034.
The London Dry Gin comes in three sizes – 5cl (£4.49), 35cl (£16.25) and 70cl (£29.45).
Why you should buy it:
Grundy said: “Sipsmith was set up in 2009 by two old school friends, Sam and Fairfax, who were living in the US at the time and inspired by the quality of the craft distilling and brewing movement they saw emerging over there.
“Believing that everyone deserved to sip better spirits they set out to bring the independent spirits of uncompromising quality back to the capital, so all of the Sipsmith spirits represent that passion, dedication, and craftsmanship.”
Sipsmith is at Stand 108 at the Independent Hotel Show, which takes place on 30-31 October at London’s Olympia Conference Centre.
