Babco says its new chocolate and cream-infused alcoholic drink is set to shake up the UK liqueur market.

Product details:

Launched during the BBC Good Food Show at London Olympia a fortnight ago, Mickey’s DeLight is a blend of chocolate and alcohol whipped with light cream. With an ABV of 15%, the range is available in four flavours:

  •  Chocolate, Fruit & Nut
  • Chocolate, Honeycrisp & Caramel
  • Tiramisu, French Vanilla Coffee & Cream
  • Chocolate, Raspberry Ripple & Vanilla

USP:

With the arrival of Mickey’s DeLight, producer Babco Europe has claimed to have created a new drinks category – alcoholic confectionery. Inspired by the Mickey Finn Whipped Chocolate variant introduced last year, Babco believed the product is a ‘highly attractive proposition’ within a relatively conservative UK liqueur category.

Availability:

The range will be available through distributor Proof Drinks from early 2014. Visit www.proofdrinks.com or contact 020 7737 7995 for more information.

Cost:

RSP is £10 for a 500cl bottle.

Why you should buy it:

According to Proof Drinks managing director James McDermott, initial trade tastings of Mickey’s DeLight have proved very positive. He said: “The BBC Good Food Show gave us a unique platform to crowd-source ideas on this, as well as get real consumer reactions to our first set of Mickey’s DeLight flavours.”

Similarly, Babco Europe said its reaction to the product from international partners has been ‘universally positive’.
