The Restaurant Group’s pub company Brunning & Price has this week opened its fourth new pub of the year – Worsley Old Hall on the northern side of Manchester.

The opening of the Grade II-listed pub follows the successful opening of the Bull’s Head in Mottram St Andrew in April, which was voted ‘New Pub of the Year’ in the 2014 Good Pub Guide.

A five-month refurbishment has seen Worsley Old Hall given a ‘warm, chatty and civilised atmosphere with open fires and vintage furniture. The pub’s food menu offers ‘modern British cooking’ and is complemented by a drinks list of over 60 wines and six cask ales.

“It is a truly extraordinary building with some six wings which have been added over the centuries”, said landlord David Green. “Many later additions have covered up interesting original features, but we have stripped these away to reveal more of the historic character of the hall.”

Brunning & Price’s latest opening was also preceded by the Autumn unveiling of the Sparrowhawk in Formby and the recent arrival of the Inn at Shipley.
