The British Institute of Innkeeping (BII) is introducing three new awards as part of its Licensee of the Year celebrations in the spring.

The three awards - Fundraiser of the Year, Apprentice of the Year and Beer Sommelier of the Year - will join the Jeremy Allen Award, the SAB Miller Scholars Programme and the prestigious Licensee of the Year award at the annual event on 14 May at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel.

“The industry is full of dedicated, knowledgeable and hard-working individuals and this new set of awards is designed to recognise some of those,” said the BII’s chief executive Tim Hulme.

“It’s also a great opportunity for us to embrace organisations such as PubAid and the Beer Academy, who do so much to highlight the importance of pubs to the fabric of our community and in the case of the Beer Academy, the level of skill and knowledge that the industry can be so proud of these days.”

The search is on for the pub industry’s top licensee as entry for the 29th BII Licensee of the Year Awards is now open. To enter, licensees should visit www.bii.org/loya and complete the first stage entry online.
