Wine Australia is adding a dining focus to this year's Australia Day Tasting by including a dedicated space for food and wine pairing.

The annual tasting, which takes place this year on 30 January at Lindley Hall in London, will see Michelin-starred chef Roger Jones of The Harrow at Little Bedwyn and Luke Robertson, a former sommelier at The Ledbury, talk guests through some Australian-inspired dishes which they have matched with wines from the tasting.

The step is designed to support Wine Australia's new campaign, ‘Restaurant Australia’, which was launched at Savour Australia 2013 in Adelaide last September and aims to put the spotlight on Australia’s premier food and wine offerings.

Wine Australia UK director Yvonne May said it was difficult for those living outside Australia to 'comprehend the calibre of Australian food and wine'.

“For the first time Dine Australia will demonstrate that Australian wine is not only incredible alone, but with our favourite dishes. In doing so you will see just how versatile our wines are and how the unique textures and flavours can change your complete dining experience. It will also re-establish Australia as a must-see destination for world-class food and wine," she said.
