Investment manager Nicola Horlick has closed her restaurant Georgina's in Barnes, blaming high business rates and slow evening trade for the decision.

The restaurant, which opened its doors in May 2012 and is named after Horlick's late daughter, closed last December. It is set to re-open in Chiswick later this year.

Horlick, who launched the restaurant in March 2012, told the Daily Telegraph that business rates in Barnes were 'excessively high' and there weren't enough people visiting in the evening.

Plans are also afoot to open another branch of Georgina's in South West London later in the year.

*Chef Adam Byatt, who was brought in as a consultant for Georgina's in 2012, has no longer any part in the business, ending his involvement in December 2012.
