The search is back on for the UK’s most talented catering college students as Nestlé’s 2014 Toque d’Or competition opens for entries. 

Following a record number of entries for the 2013 contest, this year’s Toque d’Or event involves a new partnership between Nestlé and the Professional Association for Catering Education (PACE).

As a result of this partnership, the 2014 Nestle Toque d’Or programme is now directly aligned to the national curriculum, feeding into existing module content. Moreover, the success of last year’s Toque d’Or employment initiative has led to a new pledge from Nestlé Professional for 2014 - each of the 90 students that pass the heats stage will be offered a work placement.

The competition is aimed at student teams, still learning their trade both in the kitchen and front-of-house.  It begins with a paper entry, continuing through to regional heats and then on to the Grand Finals in March.
