UKHA to hold Olympics to recognise housekeeping staff
The UK Houskeepers Association (UKHA) has launched the UKHA Olympics in a bid to find the best housekeeping team in the UK and recognise the hard work of hotel room attendants.

The all-day event will take place on Friday 24 January at The Millennium & Copthorne Hotel at Chelsea Football Club and will see teams of four housekeeping staff complete a number of practical tasks and a quiz for the chance to win the title.

An award will also be given for the best dressed team and a 'rising star' will be picked out to be nominated for the Hospitality Guild Award.

The event, which will include a speech by Francis Green, the Lord Mayor of Hammersmith & Fulham, is designed to honour the thousands of members of staff working as room attendants, porters and public area attendants who form the 'backbone' of the hotel industry, but who often receive little recognition or acknowledgement for what they do.
