A boutique hotel in Devon and a pub in Cumbria are two of 20 businesses that have made the final of a national competition to find Britain’s friendliest business.

The Belfry hotel in Yarcombe, Devon, run by Neil and Sarah Jane Martin and the Pheasant Inn in Allithwaite, Cumbria, run by the Jones family, are in with the chance of winning £10k if they can gain enough Facebook likes and win over the competition’s judges to be crowned Britain’s Friendliest Business.

“We’ve been bowled over by the quality of entries and the obvious passion and devotion that Britain’s small businesses  give to make sure their customers get the very best service.  They should all be celebrated,” said Paul Mildenstein, chief executive of small business funder Liberis and host of the competition.
