The range includes:
- Baked British Beans – Fava beans in a rich tomato sauce. Perfect on toast, with your full English breakfast or in casseroles.
- British Fava Beans – Whole fava beans in water. Great to add to soups, curries, chilli’s or even salads.
- British Vaal Dhal – Organic fava beans cooked with mild, aromatic spices. Delicious served with a roast sweet potato or just add water for a tasty soup.
Fava beans (a type of broad bean harvested dry) are one of the oldest cultivated crops in the UK, eaten as far back as the Iron Age. But most of the 500,000 tonnes grown in our country are exported to the Mediterranean, North Africa and Middle East.
With a deep, nutty flavour, fava beans are also a key ingredient in Egypt’s national dish, ful medames.
