Soupe Du Jour, a new restaurant and take away concept, is to launch its first site next month in London’s Soho.

Founded by Charles Paille de Riviere and Daniel Auner, Soupe Du Jour, which will open at 34 Lexington Street, will offer home-cooked soups with a modern twist. Its menu, which was inspired by soups the founders’ grandmothers used to make; has been created by Michelin Star trained chef Maximilian Tegler.

It is thought that the 350sq ft site, which was acquired by Shelley Sandzer on behalf of Soup Du Jour, will be the first of a number of units the new venture will look to open across the capital.

It will also include a ‘grab and go’ offer.

Auner, chief executive of Soupe Du Jour, said: “My one goal is to bring the freshest and most wholesome soups to London. As a huge soup lover, there is currently no other specialist offer within this field that I feel can compete with our gourmet recipes. We have a strong brand and one, which we feel has high potential for future growth.”

Nick Weir, joint managing partner of Shelley Sandzer, said: “Soupe Du Jour is a great brand to add to our portfolio. It is an exciting concept and one that will be very popular within the London market. Having secured the launch location, our role is to now identify the perfect sites from which the brand can grow. This is an exciting brief for Shelley Sandzer, and the latest in a successful line of new concepts we have supported in their launch into London.”
