London-based hotel group Firmdale secured funding to develop a boutique hotel on the three-quarter acre site near Mayfair back in December 2011. The 91-bedroom hotel will revolve around a tree-filled pedestrian throughfare connecting Great Windmill Street to Denman Street, opening up the historic Ham Yard and Denman place for the first time since the 1960s.
Designed in modern British style, the hotel will feature a drawing room and library, Firmdale’s first Soholistic Spa with a fully equipped gym, including a hypoxic chamber for altitude training, a 176 state-of-the art theatre, several private dining and event rooms and an original 1950s bowling alley imported from Texas, complete with bar and lounge. Guests will also have access to a rooftop garden with views across London.
In addition to the hotel, the Ham Yard site will play host to 24 residential apartments, 12 specialist retail stores and a restaurant and bar with outdoor dining and drinking.
