Unilever Food has launched a new alternative to butter to help chefs make savings in the kitchen without compromising on taste.

Meadowland Professional 250g is a 72% vegetable fat spread that can be used in exactly the same way as butter – such as for frying, baking and spreading.

USP:

According to Unilever, Meadowland Professional 250g is the ‘best quality and most genuine alternative to butter ever to hit the market’, with a creamy buttery flavour. With a retail price approximately 30 per cent cheaper than butter, it could result in big savings in the kitchen.

Why you should buy it:

Unilever said that 72 per cent of chefs surveyed agreed that Meadowland Professional 250g performed the same as or better than their usual butter.

Business development chef at Unilever Food Solutions, Mark McCarthy, commented: “Meadowland Professional 250g has received an extremely positive reception in terms of its taste and quality. We are well aware that over the years other spreads have been marketed as substitutes to butter, but we believe Meadowland Professional 250g is the first to genuinely rival it in taste and quality. The fact that 72% of chefs surveyed agreed with us is testament to that.”
