Spanish restaurant MasQMenos launches in the UK
The Holborn site is only the first in the restaurant group’s UK expansion plans. A second MasQMenos will be opening in Soho around September time and the intension is to have around 4 venues in operation before the end of the year.
The group’s director Crisol Cacheiro said: “We wanted to expand in the UK because a lot of customers from England have visited our restaurants in Spain and they love the concept.
“Also we see that London is a super powerful market, first we want to develop more in central London and then once we are, then we will see where we see there is space for MasQMenos, we need the correct sort of locations.”
Quality and pricing
The restaurant concept revolves around creating a casual and relaxed all day dining offer, where the food is of a high quality but also of good value.
“It’s a very relaxed ambience and the concept is trading all day, you feel comfortable to drop in for a coffee in the morning, or you can come for dinner late,” said Cacheiro. “It should make the customers feel like they’re in you feel in Spain.
“The good thing about MasQMenos is consumers always get the same, whether it’s in Majorca, Barcelona, Geneva or London. This is very important, we have super quality products throughout all of our restaurants, and we don’t depend on a certain chef or a specialist. We’re based on high quality but we have a very good price in relation to this, we are not expensive.”
On the restaurant’s menu are its flagship products such as ‘Bellota’ Iberian ham that comes with a classic bread with tomato, and cheeses from a range of regions as well as salads and healthier Mediterranean products. MasQMenos matches this with wines from Spanish vineyards and also offers a number of pastries and cakes for dessert. All dishes are made to order and available to eat in or to takeaway.
MasQMenos is located at 272 High Holborn and is open throughout the day.
