Cream Supplies has added wine glasses and dessert goblets to its range of compostable disposables for the catering trade.

Product details:

The wine goblets and dessert cups are made from PLA, a bioplastic produced from corn. They are safe and non-toxic for drinks and desserts up to 40C. Various sizes are available.

The Cream Supplies’ compostable disposable product range also includes white, lidded deli containers, flat and domed lids, holders, stirrers, carry-trays, straws, napkins, kitchen roll, J-cloths, large waste bags and even sugar sticks.

USP:

PLA bioplastic emits 77 per cent less CO2 during production than standard oil-based plastic and will biodegrade more quickly, meaning these disposables can be recycled together with food waste.

Availability and price:

Available from Cream Supplies’ online shop, www.creamsupplies.co.uk for next day delivery.

Why you should buy it:

“The focus on sustainability is becoming ever more intense and awareness of the damaging waste generated by what were once considered ‘standard’ disposables is strengthening rapidly,” said a Cream Supplies’ spokesperson.

“Compostable products are becoming more sought after as they will biodegrade within just twelve weeks meaning that they can be recycled together with food waste. This makes them far more efficient than items tagged simply ‘biodegradable’ which have no definitive break down time. “
