Gallery: Belsfield Hotel re-launches with Laura Ashley interiors
The Grade II listed property will continue to be operated by the Corus Hotels group, but has undergone a complete renovation and multi-million pound refurbishment. It has been decorated by the Laura Ashley interior design service team using the brand’s Home collections.
The inspiration for the design came from the Victorian Italianate building and its location by the lake. It has a mixture of modern and classic style and uses a range of colours to create a ‘refined atmosphere’.
The hotel is the second Laura Ashley hotel in the world, with Laura Ashley, The Manor Elstree having opening in Hertsfordshire in July 2013.
The Belsfield
The hotel, originally built in 1845, has 62 bedrooms and suites and sits in six acres of garden with views of Lake Windermere. Its indoor facilities include a restaurant, a cocktail bar and brasserie, and a drawing room and library, while outdoors it has a putting green and garden terrace. The hotel also features a heated indoor swimming pool, sauna and gym, and can be hired for a number of functions such as weddings and business conferences.
Chief executive of Corus Hotels Andrew Clayton said: “When Corus Hotels began planning the refurbishment of its Belsfield Hotel in Windermere, we immediately sat down with Laura Ashley to explore the potential for taking the concept to the Lake District. We entered into a commercial relationship with Laura Ashley to provide design services and to bring the hotel under the umbrella of the ‘Laura Ashley Hotels’ brand.
"Our guests will be able to enjoy everything that the most modern hotel has to offer the discerning leisure and business traveller, whilst staying in a fine Victorian building on the shores of Lake Windermere in rooms and suites designed by one of the most well -known and loved British brands.”
