Richard Caring, the sector investor, will open the first site under a new all-day dining format, the Ivy Market Grill, in London’s Covent Garden, in December.

The new opening, which is on the site of the Pizza Hut unit at 1a Henrietta Street, will be overseen by Yishay Malkov former restaurant director of Gordon Ramsay at Claridge’s Hotel and more recently general manager of modern Japanese restaurant Roka.

Head chef for the new venue is Sean Burbidge former head chef of Petrus in Knightsbridge.

Caring had previously mooted the Ivy Café concept back in 2011 and was believed to have secured 12 Curzon Street for the format. This subsequently became Soho House’s Little House venture.

He had previously talked about launching several sites on a more informal take on his The Ivy restaurant.

Caring, who also backs Bill’s, Grillshack and Jackson + Rye, is set to open new restaurant at the NatWest Bank site at 1/4 Berkeley Square and in King’s Road.
