A new southern fried chicken joint, Moral Fox, will open on the site of the former Globe nightclub in West London today.

The 30-cover restaurant, located just off Portobello on 103 Talbot Road, pays tribute to American fried chicken joints, with a nod to the Globe’s Caribbean heritage.

It will offer a menu of free-range chicken coated in owner Robie Uniacke’s secret recipe batter and served plain fried, spicy or a sliced white sandwich.

Sides will include triple cooked fries, creamy coleslaw, corn on the cob and sweet potato mash, with weekly changing specials such as chili-creamed corn, ice cream with Oreo crumbs.

There will also be ‘secret’ dishes such as pancetta and chive mac & cheese revealed by the servers daily.

Drinks will include homemade lemonade and raspberry lemonade, as well as Camden lager and pale ale, and cocktails including the Godmother- a mix of vodka and Amaretto.

Laura Gallacher, who opened The Electric Diner for Soho House Group, has been appointed as hostess. Average spend is expected to be around £20 a head including drink.

The Moral Fox is opening at 103 Talbot Road, London W11
