Cereal Killer Café comes to London
Cereal Killer Café will be located at 139 Brick Lane and will be spread over two floors.
It will offer customers the choice of over 100 different cereals and is open from 7am to 8pm, offering the perceived breakfast food throughout the day.
The concept is the brainchild of identical twins Alan and Gary Keery from Belfast, who wished to share their ‘cereal obsession’ with the UK capital.
The duo contributed £20K of their own savings towards the venture and originally intended to crowd fund further investment before going to the banks, but only raised £1015 of their £60K target this way. However, the founders believed the campaign succeeded in giving them the ‘exposure’ they hoped for.
The cereals
The menu at Cereal Killer Café will serve 100 cereals, 13 milks, and 20 different toppings. The founders have already sourced cereals from suppliers in America, France, Australia, South Africa and South Korea.
Cereal Killer Café will also serve 18 flavours of pop tarts, toast, and coffee from the local Allpress coffee house on the nearby Redchurch Street.
The cereals will be served in small, medium and large bowls and will be priced between £2.50 and £3.50. The café will also offer ‘combo meals’ and ‘cereal cocktails’.
Cereal cocktails on the menu will include Smore Than Words, a mixture of Golden Grahams, mini marshmallows and chocolate milk, and Crunchy Nutcase, which combines Crunchy Nut Cornflakes, Crunchy Nut Clusters, and hazelnut milk.
Breakfast atmosphere
Cereal Killer Café will display 80 vintage cereal boxes from brands such as Pokémon, Bill and Ted, The Addams family, and Cabbage Patch Kids.
It will also house a range of cereal memorabilia and collectibles including money boxes, skateboards, bike reflectors and milk bottles.
The café will also host the Saturday Morning Breakfast Club where it will play old cartoons on vintage television sets for customers, and the founders are planning to hold ‘lots more events and fun’ at the site.
