Food supplier JJ Food Service has launched two traceable British pork lines in an effort to expand its restaurant, pub and hotel customer base.

The pork cuts include boneless shoulder and neck ends, and complete the company’s meat range, alongside the traceable British beef and Welsh lamb launched last month.

Chief product officer for JJ Food Service Ali Guvemli said: “Consumers continue to want assurance that the meat on their menu is locally-sourced and animal-welfare approved. We are responding by working towards making our business a one-stop shop for locally-sourced, high-quality fresh meats.”

JJ Food Service is also considering the introduction of a fresh meat counter at its headquarters in Enflield, where a meat and butchery expert would cut and prepare meats for customers.

“This will create fantastic theatre for customers that come to place their order on-site. We are looking to introduce the concept in our Enfield branch over the next year,” added Guvemli.
