London Thai-café concept Rosa’s has opened its first North London restaurant in Angel.

The 60-cover restaurant, on Theberton Street, is the sixth for the group, which is led by husband and wife team Alex and Salphin Moore.

The venue features a clean, contemporary interior with bespoke timber paneling, brass-topped booths, neutral tones and a large skylight to let in plenty of natural light. The back of the restaurant can be booked as a private dining space for 42 people.

The menu is the same as the group’s other sites, with simple Thai classics such as Northern Thai Lao-style Sausage, Spicy Chargrilled Pork Neck Salad and Stir-fried Crispy Pork with Kra Prow

Drinks on offer include cocktails made with exotic fruit and spiced blends, a selection of red, white and rosé wines, available by the glass and carafe, Chang beer, iced teas, juices and freshly-ground Monmouth coffee.

HyperGrowth business

Rosa’s expansion into North London follows investment from three private investors secured via the UK Angel Investment Network in return for a 5 per cent stake in the business.

The investment is also funding two new sites in Chelsea, the first of which opened in October 2014.

Launched in Spitalfields in 2008, Rosa’s Thai Café was one of just 30 companies out of 15,000 selected by Growth Accelerator as a HyperGrowth business – deemed to be growing at an extraordinary rate. The company hopes to reach ten sites by 2017.

Rosa's Angel is open now at 6 Theberton Street, N1 0QX
