Local resident Taskin Muzaffer, who also own Little Bird Gin and was previously business development director for bar group Drake & Morgan, opened the 70-seater restaurant just before Christmas. It is open for brunch, lunch and dinner and serves seasonal modern European dishes complemented by a distinctive wine list and Little Bird Gin cocktails.
The kitchen is headed up by executive chef Gareth Crosby, who also previously worked at Drake & Morgan.
Dishes on the menu include: seared king scallops, Swiss chard and lardo; chargrilled pig’s ribeye with sautéed apple celeriac and carrot lentils; and smashed Devon crab with piccalilli remoulade.
Pedler is one of a new wave of restaurants to open in Peckham, which are helping to turn it into a new dining destination for London. Artusi, Peckham Bazaar and Forza Dispena have all won praise from critics, while The Evening Standard has described Peckham as London’s hottest new “foodie hub”.
