Haymarket Hotel tops TripAdvisor's 2015 Travellers' Choice Awards

The 50-bedroom hotel which is owned by Firmdale Hotels, took first place in the Top 25 Hotels in the UK category in TripAdvisor's 2015 Travellers' Choice awards as well as coming 20th in the world. 

Other big winners across the eight award categories were Lawton Court Hotel in Llandudno, which took top place in the Best Service, Small Hotel and Bargain categories and Millgate B&B in Masham, named both the UK and world number one B&B. 

Sue Burrell, co-owner of Millgate B&B, said: “To be named the best B&B in the world is an incredible feeling, and shows that our approach to collecting guest reviews is paying dividends. Over the last 12 months, we’ve been using TripAdvisor’s Review Express service which has been invaluable in converting our positive guest feedback into great reviews.”

Now in their 13th year, the awards are based on the reviews and opinions of TripAdvisor users from the last year with the hallmarks of those winning being remarkable service, quality and value. 

James Kay, spokesperson for TripAdvisor said award winners in the UK should feel particularly proud this year as they had scored highly not only in their own country, but worldwide. 

“These awards recognise the finest hotels across the globe, according to those that really matter - the guests themselves," he said. "This year is particularly good news for the UK hotel industry, with the UK home to more of the world’s best rated properties than any other country.

"The good news for all our winners is that they stand to gain more than just the prestige of an award title - a recent TripAdvisor survey showed that 83 per cent of Brits say awards like this influence their decision to book a hotel."
