Hawksmoor founders Huw Gott and Will Beckett are planning to open a second branch of Foxlow, their neighbourhood restaurant offering - in Stoke Newington.

The 100-cover restaurant and bar will open on the former Homa site on Stoke Newington Church Street in April.

Becket said he and Gott had toyed with the idea of opening a restaurant in Stoke Newington since living there several years ago.

He said: “We’ve always loved the idea of opening something on Church Street, which is one of the great neighbourhood streets in London. We hope we’ve found just the right thing; when Homa came up we knew it was for us. The restaurant is in a beautiful building and we think it’s the nicest spot on the street. We think we can do something there that the locals will be really proud of."

The restaurant's interiors will be designed by Macaulay Sinclair, who designed Foxlow in Clerkenwell and the menu will be overseen by Foxlow's chefs Richard Turner and Lewis Hannford. Dishes will mirror those served in Clerkenwell, such as Ten Hour Beef Shortrib, Foxlow Fried Chicken and Crispy Five Pepper Squid.
