Gideon Joffe, the owner of Chez Bob's in Belsize Park and Chooks in Muswell Hill, is to open a second restaurant under his MonkeyNuts brand.

Joffe, the son of Giraffe founders Russel and Juliette Joffe, will open MonkeyNuts steakhouse in Whetstone in Barnet this spring.

The 4,000 sq ft 100 cover restaurant will be Joffe's fourth restaurant and, as reported by BigHospitality's sister publication M&C Report last month, forms part of his family's plans to grow all three restaurant brands.

Casey Philips, acquisition agent at Shelley Sandzer, the property agent responsible for finding the site for Joffe, said: “Gideon has a proven track record of performing well in affluent London suburbs, through his Chez Bob’s restaurant in Belsize Park, Chooks in Muswell Hill and the original MonkeyNuts steakhouse in Crouch End, and we are confident he will be just as successful in Whetstone with the second MonkeyNuts steakhouse.

"The area is already well-populated by a number of highly regarded restaurants and bars, including Al Fresco, The Haven, Ask, Pizza Express and Cocorico.  Monkeynuts steakhouse adds something new to the mix, and will attract affluent residents from North, West and East Finchley, as well as Barnet and Totteridge.”
