Big Easy Bar.B.Q & Lobstershack has recruited a new senior management team, including Noel D'Arcy as managing director, to help with its plans to grow the business.

D'Arcy, formerly retail operations director at Mitchells & Butlers, has been recruited to head up a team, which includes Mayuri Vachhani as finance director and Kevin Todd as non-executive director, to open a new site in Canary Wharf this year and explore more opportunities for expansion.

Following its launch on the King's Road in Chelsea in 1991, American restaurant brand Big Easy Bar.B.Q & Lobstershack's second site opened last year in Covent Garden. It's third site will open later this year at Crossrail Place in Canary Wharf where the 11,000 sq ft site will occupy part of the top floor roof terrace of the rail terminal.

The new restaurant will include an open kitchen with a pit room housing three two tonne US-built smokers, an oyster and raw bar, private dining rooms and an outdoor terrace. It will open from breakfast through to dinner.

Big Easy founder, Paul Corrett, said: “As London’s love of Bar.B.Q, lobsters and steaks continues, I am absolutely thrilled to have built the ultimate team to help the brand grow, starting with the opening of our next big site Canary Wharf."

Under the new set-up D'Arcy will focus on improving the company's operations while Vachhani, who has 15 years' experience working in restaurants, including Ed's Easy Diner and ASK, will oversee growth.

To aid with expansion, the company has also launched a crowdfunding campaign on Crowdcube where it hopes to raise £3m to invest in new restaurants by allowing private investors to buy a Big Easy Bond of £500 or more. Each investor will be given the option of a fixed cash interest rate of 8 per cent per annum or 12 per cent in restaurant credit. Those investing £5,000 or more will also be offered a free meal worth £50 each quarter.

"I hope our customers are excited about our new mini bond offering and having the chance to be part of the business," added Corrett.
