Chicken Shop opening fifth London site

The 2,000 sq.ft restaurant will be the fifth UK location for the brand, which operates across London and also has a site in Chicago, Illinois, USA.
“Chicken Shop already has a loyal following in South West London from its Tooting restaurant, and so Balham was an ideal next step. The area is home to many cool young professional families, with a great mix of affluence and ‘hip’ that the Soho House brand thrives on,” said Casey Phillips of Shelley Sandzer, the agency which secured the site.
The restaurant uses free-range birds from Banham’s Farm in Norfolk, which are marinated overnight, steamed and then rotisserie cooked over charcoal.
Chicken is the only main course available, served whole, halved or quartered fresh from the spit with simple sides including Crinkle Cut Fries, Corn on the Cob, and Butter Lettuce and Avocado Salad.
Part of Soho House’s portfolio, which also includes PizzaEast and Dirty Burger, Chicken Shop opened its previous site beneath The Hoxton Hotel in High Holborn in September 2014.
The new restaurant can be found at 7a Chesnut Grove, Balham, and opens in summer 2015.
