Frankie & Benny's among winners at Development Chef Awards 2015
Chefs at Frankie & Benny's and the Seafood Pub Company were among the winners at the Farm Frites Development Chef Awards last night (24 March). 

Seven restaurant and pub companies in all were recognised for their food offers at the second Development Chef Awards at Rich Mix in Shoreditch, organised by BigHospitality's sister title Restaurant magazine. 

The winners were: 

  • Jim Dickenson, F&B development manager at Frankie and Benny’s - Best Restaurant Group Chef
  • Anthony Shirley, executive chef of the Seafood Pub Company - Best Pub Group Chef
  • Bath Ales’ Graze concept - Best Restaurant Menu category (3-20 sites)
  • Gourmet Burger Kitchen - Best Restaurant Menu (21 + sites)
  • St Austell - Best Pub Menu (3-20 sites)
  • Greene King's premium high street division - Best Pub Menu (21+ sites) 
  • Whiting & Hammond's Corned Beef Hash - Best New Dish 

Restaurant magazine editor Stefan Chomka said: “The aim of these awards is to recognise and reward this vital but often unsung section of the cheffing world. This year’s winners have demonstrated why the UK’s casual dining and food-led pub scene continues to thrive thanks to clever menu innovation and a strong understanding of what customers want to eat.”
