The restaurant will be the chain's first opening in the capital since the launch of its Wimbledon site in 2013.
“We are delighted to continue our growth in London. Our customers are responding very positively to Chipotle, and as we continue to develop our teams and provide an exceptional experience, we will look to grow sustainably and sensibly across London and into the UK,” said Jacob Sumner, UK managing director for Chipotle.
Summer told Restaurant Magazine in 2012 that the company planned to roll out its UK expansion at a slower pace than in the USA, citing hyper-growth as ‘risky’.
Chipotle first opened in Denver, Colorado in 1993 and has since grown to over 1800 restaurants in the USA, Canada, UK, France and Germany. The 2010 London Charing Cross opening was the chain's first site outside North America.
The new restaurant will open at 49, London Wall, EC2M.
